If you program your bot's RCX with NQC, make sure to include a check to skip unknown messages at the top of your event-handling loop. Remember, in a competition each bot receives all the messages; relying on a "default" case (or final "else" clause in an if-elseif-else chain) to ignore unwanted messages will consume valuable processing cycles. Your bot will work OK at home by itself, but will perform poorly in the arena!
